The Research and Education in Accessibility, Design, and Innovation (READi) program provides accessibility training and skills to students. It is the first interdisciplinary post-secondary accessibility-training program offered in Canada.
READi is an integrated solutions-oriented training program which includes applied and experimental learning, as well as a diverse number of end users in co-designing. Students from Carleton University, the University of Ottawa and Queen’s University engage in an interdisciplinary learning environment through READi. The program actively collaborates with business, non-government organizations, accessibility experts and persons with disabilities.
This unique training program prepares students for employment in a growing number of markets defined by accessibility requirements. Moreover, students and collaborators engage in other participatory research and development activities that focus on real-world accessibility issues.
READi seeks collaborators to engage with the students in the accessibility training program, as well as to potentially engage in research projects and internships.
