Ala’a Al-Habashna received his Master of Engineering degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2010, and his PhD degree from Carleton University in 2018, both in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Currently, Dr. Al-Habashna is an Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Dr. Al-Habashna has won multiple awards including excellence and best-paper awards. He worked as a reviewer for many conferences and journals including the IEEE ICC and Multimedia Tools and Applications journal. Dr. Al-Habashna is also the co-chair for the Communications and Networking Symposium (CNS) and a Technical Program Committee Member in conferences such as the International Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems (SPECTS). His current research interests include 5G wireless networks, communication networks architecture and protocols, IoT applications, multimedia communication over wireless networks, discrete-event modeling and simulation, signal detection and classification, cognitive radio systems, machine learning and computer vision.
