Joaquin Garcia-Alfaro
Joaquin Garcia-Alfaro is professor at the Networks and Telecommunication Services department of Télécom SudParis (Institut Polytechnique de Paris and Institut Mines-Télécom, in the campus of Palaiseau, France) and Adjunct Research Professor at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada).
He holds an Engineering degree in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona; a double Ph.D. diploma in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Rennes; and a research Habilitation from Université Sorbonne VI (Pierre et MarieCurie). He was awarded by La Caixa savings bank foundation and has been a visiting postdoctoral fellow at Carleton University.
His research interests include a wide range of information security problems, with an emphasis on the management of security policies, analysis of vulnerabilities, and enforcement of countermeasures. He is a reviewer for magazine and symposiums, has co-authored numerous papers in journals and conferences, and has guided several Ph.D. students in related topics. He is also involved in several research projects atNational and European levels, related to ICT security.
