Mawuena Torkornoo is the manager of external relations at the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. In her role, she uses her extensive skills and depth of experience to work with external stakeholders to co-create meaningful partnerships and collaborations. She also leads the Sprott Mitacs Business Strategy Internship (BSI) Program.
She oversees three distinct but synergistic teams: communications and media relations, alumni relations, and the Business Career Management Centre. Prior to this role, Mawuena developed valuable partnership building and community engagement skills through a variety of external facing roles, including special projects and research facilitator with the Azrieli School of Architecture and Urbanism, coordinator of recruitment and outreach with the Faculty of Engineering and Design (FED) and director of Virtual Ventures, a not-for-profit organization based in FED focused on youth technology and engineering education.
Mawuena holds an MBA from the Sprott School of Business and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (with Distinction) from Carleton University. She was inducted into the “Best in Business” International Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma for academic achievements.
