As a Corporate Relations Officer, Mistalyn actively encourages partnerships with industry through R&D collaborations, sponsorship, branding and visibility on campus, recruitment of talent, access to research facilities and philanthropy.
Prior to this role, Mistalyn spent 15 years working with high performing teams fundraising in the fields of health care and education. As a past Senior Development Officer within the Faculty of Science at Carleton, Mistalyn worked with alumni, donors and industry partners to support students and research. Before joining Carleton in 2012, Mistalyn worked in fundraising roles at CNIB, the University of Calgary and Queen's University. Her knowledge includes annual giving, major gifts, comprehensive campaigns, planned giving, sponsorship, and corporate relations.
Mistalyn completed her BSc in biochemistry from Queen's University, obtained a two year certificate in leadership from the University of Calgary, and studied Braille while employed at CNIB. She is a current member with both the National Academic Corporate Relations Officers (NACRO) and the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.
