For nearly 75 years, Carleton University’s School of Journalism has been at the forefront of professional practice and on the front lines of inquiry into journalism’s role in society.
The Future of Journalism Initiative (FJI) is a collaborative research hub to advance knowledge and understanding of journalism practice. Through the FJI, journalists, academics, students, and partners of the university collaborate in innovative research. Collaborators through the FJI will also engage in projects that investigate different challenges facing the media and society.
Get Involved
- Become a program partner. We are seeking creative and academic partners from like-minded institutions in the industry and the academy.
- Inquire about becoming a visiting practitioner or visiting academic. We are seeking collaborators on projects that serve a public interest and/or which bolster the study of journalism in society.
- Make a donation to the FJI or Journalism students. Gifts to FJI directly support its initiatives and current journalism students, who are building skills and making discoveries that benefit them, our industry and society.
If you are interested in collaborating through the FJI, please contact Brett Popplewell (Brett.Popplewell@carleton.ca), director of the FJI.
