As a leading educational institution, Carleton has a responsibility to work toward closing the gender gap in STEM. The Faculty of Engineering and Design is seeking individuals, community organizations and industry partners for a new Women in Engineering and IT (WiE&IT) Program.
The WiE&IT Program is among the first of its kind in Canada. Beginning in September 2021, this program will enhance support for women students, create meaningful opportunities for women professionals, and shape a more inclusive future for engineering and IT.
Through the Women in Engineering and IT Program, individuals, organizations and industry partners will:
- Increase awareness of women role models.
- Provide young women with the tools and knowledge for a successful transition into the workforce.
- Support initiatives led by individual students and student groups, faculty, staff and academic units seeking to address issues related to equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
If you are interested in partnering through the WiE&IT Program, please contact Jennifer Wolters (Jennifer.Wolters@carleton.ca), assistant director of faculty advancement with the Faculty of Engineering and Design.
